    10.15.2018 | Inter-Religious Peace March

Sisters of St. Joseph from the Provinces of Pachmarhi and Tanmaya actively took part in the Inter-Religious Peace March held on October 02, 2018 at Asha Niketan Campus, Bhopal, India. This Peace March was organized by the Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism of the Archdiocese of Bhopal in view of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of our Nation. 500 people from different religions participated in this Peace March. The rally covered important squares of Bhopal City.

Communal tensions have become very common in many parts of our country, hence Archbishop Leo Cornelio of Bhopal Archdiocese said, “It is the need of the hour to come together with one heart and mind to build one nation, burying our individual differences. As all the rivers reach one destination in the end, we need to become aware of our origin and the purpose of our existence to promote peace and harmony in our country.”

Sisters from the Inter Congregational Juniorate, run by us Sisters of St. Joseph, Tanmaya Province, Bhopal, performed the prayer dance asking the God of Peace to lead the hearts of the people of this country from bondage to the temporary world to the eternal self, from ignorance to spiritual knowledge and from the fear of death to immortality.

The leaders of different religious groups were invited on the stage to pledge with the people to promote unity and peace in the country. While interacting with the participants, one of them said, “All we want is peace. Our hearts are restless seeing the atrocities created by the fundamentalists. We join hands to restore human dignity, for action speaks louder than words.”
