Sister Sally participates in the Synod on youth

Sister Sally Marie Hodgdon, Superior General of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambéry, is one of eight religious invited to participate in the Synod on Youth to be held in Rome from October 3 to 28, 2018. The 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops has as its theme, "Young people, faith and vocational discernment”.

The Synod was convoked by Pope Francis, with the goal of providing young people a place they learn to share experiences, listen to each other, encounter each other and discern their choices. The Synod will be guided by four key words, discernment, listening, journeying and sharing. The Pontiff\´s hope is that young people take an attitude of "leaving" and setting out, like Abraham, towards a new land characterized by a just and fraternal society. For the Church, this is an opportunity to listen to the expectations, hopes, doubts and criticisms of young people, in order to better accompany them, learn about their values, grow in communion and make them protagonists of their existence.

In preparation for the Synod, many seminars were held, and several articles, discussions and reflections were published. In addition to local resources, you can access the website of the UISG - International Union of Superiors General - and track the progress made in preparation for this great ecclesial event. www.uisg.org
