    Global coordination of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Rome


    The Superiors General of the 5 International Congregations: Chambéry, Lyon, Annecy, Saint Joseph Institute, and Argentina and the representatives and Executive Directors of 4 Federations: French, Canadian, American and Italian, met in Rome from September 15 to 17 at the Generalate of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambéry.  The current coordinator of the NGO at the United Nations, Sr. Barbara Bozak, also participated in part of the meeting.

    This meeting, bringing together these leaders, endeavors to reflect on emerging themes and the future of projects in common undertaken globally. Among these are the future of the International Centre, the expansion of the Archives common to all the Congregations, and the journey of the International Commission on Justice and Peace. This meeting, held annually, also prioritizes sharing the life and mission of every Institute, Federation and Latin American network, with the purpose of making firm the bonds of communion and mission partnerships.

    This year, the following Sisters participated:

    Catherine Barange (Lyon), Monique Vallon (Institute – French Federation), Pauline Adamkapulam (Annecy), Sally Hodgdon (Chambéry), Graciela Sotelo (Argentina), Patty Johnson (American Federation), Michele Beiter (Buffalo – Executive Director of the American Federation ), Anne Karges (Canada), Loretta Mazara (Canada – Executive Director of the Canadian Federation), Petra Uretti (Saint Joseph Institute – Italian Federation), Gemma Gastaldi (Cúneo, Italy), Barbara Bozak (NGO Coordinator at the UN).
