    Saint Joseph

    Dear Sisters and Associates,
     
    Feast day greetings to each of you! 
     
    As we celebrate this important day throughout the Congregation according to our various cultural and provincial traditions, how do we come to this time of renewal of vows and reflection on the dreams and qualities of our dear patron, Saint Joseph, in relation to how we are called to live in our current world reality? 
     
    Joseph, a man of great kindness, simplicity and deep faith was able to come to accept and live fully the daunting challenges in his life. He welcomed and gave life to Mary and Jesus and was faithful to all that being a religious family entailed in his political reality. 
     
    Today we, too, face daunting challenges in some areas of our daily lives, whether it be a result of religious, political or economic instability. Can we witness to our deep faith and continue to offer life, acceptance and hope within these situations which are so often contrary to the Gospel, our charism and our deeply held values?
     
    May we, like Joseph, offer hope and consolation born of love for all who grieve and ache any suffering imposed by the situations in which they find themselves. 
     
    Happy Feast of Saint Joseph!
