Happy Feast of St. Joseph to each of you!

 March 19, 2010

Dear Sisters and Associates,
We celebrate your faithfulness to living fully our spirituality and charism of inclusive love and union with “all humanity and all creation”.
(Final Document 2009)

As we celebrate the feast of our patron, which of the many characteristics of St. Joseph touch our hearts at this time in our lives, both as individuals and as community?  Is it Joseph’s gentle and non-intrusive presence?  Or is it his protective and quiet strength always there, caring for those he loved?  Or is it his deep faithfulness to God’s mysterious call to change his plans, his dreams and to allow grace to direct his steps?

Joseph continued to love Mary even as obstacles were placed in his path and welcomed Jesus as his own son. As we continue our Lenten journey, we are invited to listen to God speaking not only through our successes and joyful moments, but also through our dashed dreams and the changes in our realities.  May we, like Joseph, continue to faithfully follow the graces so freely offered by God and walk on in the mystery surrounding this time in our provinces, regions and missions, in our church, in our narcissistic society and in the turmoil impacting our planet.

We will all be united in spirit and prayer on March 19 as we celebrate this great feast day,
moving as one toward the fulfillment of God’s desire for us!

With blessings and love,
S. Sally Hodgdon, S. Clementina Copia,
S. Ieda Tomazini, S. Philo Pazhuruparambil
